  • A new Kohler Whitehaven K-5827 costs $1,238–1,357 at plumbing supply retailers. A professional enamel resurfacing service costs $200–400. Even after a full professional repair, a buyer purchasing this sink and paying for resurfacing spends $600–800 all-in vs. $1,238+ for a perfect new one. For a contractor who can repair enamel themselves, the math is even better. This is a $1,300 sink available for $400.
  • For buyers doing a kitchen renovation: the apron front damage on the exterior corner can be reduced significantly with Kohler's touch-up kit for the crazing lines. The base chip is below-cabinet after installation. A buyer who is repainting their kitchen cabinet to a color other than white may find that the apron front crazing, once touched up with Kohler white porcelain glaze, is indiscernible at normal viewing distance.

The Kohler Whitehaven K-5827 is one of the most coveted farmhouse sinks ever made — enameled cast iron, self-trimming apron front, Made in the USA, 140 pounds of virtually indestructible sink. This one has enamel damage from shipping or handling and is priced accordingly. If you know what the Whitehaven normally costs and you know how to seal or repair enamel, you know what this listing is worth. Selling AS-IS to the right buyer.

⚠️ Condition — Read Before Purchasing

This sink is sold AS-IS with full disclosure of the following enamel damage. Please review ALL provided photos carefully before purchasing. Buyer pays return shipping — this is a large freight item. Condition is Open Box / Damaged.

Damage Location 1 — Exterior Apron Front Corner: Multiple radiating crack lines in the enamel at the exterior apron face corner, plus a chip at the bottom of the corner radius where enamel has separated. This is on the visible front-facing apron — the damage is visible.

Damage Location 2 — Interior Basin Ledge/Rim: A crazing and crack network visible on the interior horizontal ledge near the basin rim, from an apparent impact. The crack pattern extends across a section of the ledge.

Damage Location 3 — Base/Foot: A large section of enamel is missing at the sink base foot, exposing raw cast iron. This area is typically hidden after installation (sits on cabinet floor) but the exposed cast iron should be sealed with epoxy enamel or rust-inhibiting paint before mounting to prevent rust progression.

Structural/cast iron integrity: The cast iron body appears structurally intact. This is not a cracked sink — it is an enamel-damaged sink. The enamel damage is cosmetic and locational but is real and significant. Repair options include Kohler's porcelain touch-up kit (white, available on Amazon/Kohler.com for ~$20) for hairline crazing, professional enamel resurfacing services ($200–400) for more complete restoration, or epoxy enamel paint for the exposed base chip.
